macrophotography

My macrophotography work takes place primarily outdoors in nature with living subjects, as well as in the studio with deceased subjects. I use an M. Zuiko 90mm lens from OM System, capable of producing a magnification ratio ranging from 1:1 up to 4:1 with the MC-20 teleconverter.

All my macro photos are created using focus bracketing and image stacking in software to achieve perfectly sharp images. A single macro photo can consist of as few as 15 images or more than 300 images.

This is an example of a before-and-after comparison of a leaf cutting ant at 4x magnification. The first image is a focus stack created in Helicon directly from the RAW files, while the second image shows the final result after full post-processing and editing.
